Classroom events for the week of Sept. 20th - Sept. 24th

This will be a full week of classes, something we haven't had since the end of August. We will be working hard this week with many things to accomplish so please be sure to come to class prepared: free reading book, planner, binder and Journal(Language Arts only), and a pencil. Remember: You must have a book to read at the beginning of class, DEAR is not a time to check out a book.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL LESSONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

6th Grade Reading: This week we will be working with the short story, The Lady and The Spider. We will be following the SCR schedule this week since it is a full week. On Monday we will learn the vocabulary for our story, on Tuesday we will listen to the story and then work in small groups on our Cooperative Comprehension. Since our past two stories covered inferencing we will do an inferencing mini lesson on Wednesday. On Thursday we will have time to work on our vocabulary cards and study for the vocabulary test which will be on Friday.

7th Grade Reading: Saving a Busload of Children will be the focus short story for our SCR lessons this week. We will cover the vocabulary for this story on Monday, then listen to the story on Tuesday as well as work on Cooperative Comprehension. Thursday will focus on vocabulary cards and studying the words with a partner for the vocabulary quiz which will be on Friday.
