Language:
The spelling lists for this week are printed below. You should copy them carefully into your planner and then have a parent or older sibling check them to be sure you have spelled the correctly. There will be assignments on Monday and Tuesday for both 6th and 7th grade students. The spelling pre-test will be on Wednesday as usual, but the final test will be on Thursday. You should study your spelling words each day by printing them several times, typing them on your computer, having someone ask you to recite them, or come up with an idea of your own.

We will NOT be DOL sentences this week due to our shortened week. We will, however, work on specific skills such as run-on sentences, capitalization, and punctuation.
You will also be given another Journal Writing Assignment with the topic of Veteran's Day. You will be required to fill out a graphic organizer and then put your information into paragraph form. This will be due on Thursday this week. We will also continue to work on revisions to our autobiographical paragraphs and the second draft will be collected on Thursday as well.
Reading:
We will not begin a new SCR selection this week. We will instead complete a Jamestown reading assessment, work on a new Reader's Theatre, and work on some booktalk activities.
You will have a reading log to complete this week after reading 20 minutes each day outside of class. Be sure to fill your log out completely and get an adult signature after completing your part.
